A 16-bit adventure across Sarawak. Real places, real food, real memories, and one stolen Hornbill Heart.

NOW IN DEVELOPMENT

Sarawak: The Hornbill Heart

You come home to Kuching after years away, and on your first morning back, a glowing hornbill feather chooses you. The Hornbill Heart that kept Sarawak safe has been stolen, and the land is starting to feel it.

Follow the feather from Kuching Waterfront to the far corners of Sarawak. Make friends, calm frightened spirits, solve old puzzles, bake kek lapis, row a sampan, and step back into places that only live in memory now.

The story is fiction. The places, food and memories are real.

KEEPING MEMORIES ALIVE

So the next generation can remember

Some places are gone. Pasar Cekor, the old Gambier Street wet market, was demolished in 2009. In the game, a feather's memory light brings it back: the fish hall, the vegetable stalls, and the kopitiam with bread toasted over charcoal and kopi in a Hainan cup.

ABOUT THE STUDIO

Terung Asam Studio

We're a small indie game studio from Sarawak. Terung asam is the little sour eggplant that makes our sour fish soup sing: a bit sour, a bit odd-looking, and 100% Sarawak. That's us.

Our first prototype was "Malaysia: Can U Survive Ah?", a side-scrolling satire about the everyday struggles we Malaysians go through. It got us thinking about home. Sarawak has so much culture and so many stories of its own, so now we're making a game about it.

We make games that are fiction, inspired by real things, and made with respect for Sarawak's many communities.
